Why Every Day Leisure Reading is Good for Your Health


Reading is a fundamental ingredient to our day to day life which is usually done uncontrollably, we read road signs, notifications, text messages and emails, making our mind always busy daily.

Reading for leisure has proven to be very therapeutic, especially when we are stressing
about the countless everyday troubles we face.

Books can help take your focus away from the present moment and worries, by stimulating and exciting your imagination, letting tension drain away and allowing your brain to relax.

Sometimes the stresses of modern day living shrink our awareness onto a narrow band of focus of attention and away from the rest of the world, all it's glory, mystery and things to discover.

A good book can transport you to places, dream worlds and cultures that you may know little about or you were not even aware they existed.

What you learn from reading can help you improve and better your life in many ways. When you read, the mental activity your receiving which acts like a workout for the mind is believed to be beneficial to help slow down fatigue and stress related diseases.

The mind is like the body it needs exercising just like your muscles do, once you engage yourself in a good book your focus of attention will shift off your troubles as you become oblivious to what's happening in the outside world.

Books can stimulate and excite your imagination and curiosity, everything that exists and has ever existed is documented and can be found in a book, reading can teach you new skills, idea's and give you a new positive outlook on life. Books can take you out of your world and away from your personal perspectives for a while as they let you into the private mind, the idea's and opinions of others.

So, take a break for a couple of minutes, crack open a book or join us during our daily reads and replenish your soul for a while before going on with your daily work.
